Are the 90’s slowly coming back?

I will start this by saying I love when old shows come back.  They just make me feel so nostalgic.

Growing up I watched Boy Meets World (1993-2000) every Friday (TGIF) and I was so happy when they announced a spin-off; Girl Meets World (2014-2017).  Being in my late 20’s at the time, the show was too young for me, but I watched every episode because I LOVED seeing the characters I grew up with.  I also grew up watching Full House (1987-1995) and was ecstatic when Netflix announced Fuller House (2016-).  I could relate to what the girls on Full house were growing through and now that I’m in my 30’s I can still relate to what the girls are going through.  I’m eagerly waiting for season 4 to be released!

I was so happy when they announced Will & Grace (1998-2006) would be back on tv and it seems others were as well as they have already announced a third season has been ordered and season 2, I mean 10, probably hasn’t even been filmed yet.

Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990-2000) was brought back as 90210 (2008-2013), Netflix brought back Gilmore Girls (2000-20007) for Gilmore Girls: A year in the Life (2016) and Veronica Mars (2004-2007) was brought back for a movie (2017).  The Degrassi franchise seems to be the most successful.  CBC Television started with Degrassi High (1987-1991) then came Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001-2015).  There was also a movie in 2009, another Degressi series and currently Netflix and Family Channel are running Degrassi: Next Class.  That’s 5 series in one franchise.

AND NOW Roseanne (1988-1997) has returned! My husband watched it more than I did growing and but he’s definitely not as excited about it as I am.  We watched the first two episodes on Tuesday and neither of us were impressed.  Just like the return of Will and Grace the first episode was too political for me and the jokes felt too forced but I’m sure I’ll watch all 9 episodes in hopes that it gets better.

I was too young at the time to watch Murphy Brown (1988-1998) so I’m not sure if I’ll be checking out that reboot when it airs during the 2018-2019 season but, please don’t judge because I hesitate to even say this, I already have the PVR set up to record the new season of Jersey Shore (2009-2012) that starts on April 5.  It’s awful, I know, but I just can’t look away.

Have you watched any of these remakes/revivals/reboots over the last few years? What shows would you want to see come back?
